A shared banner for Pennsylvania birth care

The Keystone Birth Collaborative is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation with a mission to improve access to maternal and newborn care for families in rural Pennsylvania by supporting a collaborative network of clinicians, birth centers, and community partners.

Independent by design

Every friend of the Collaborative is a peer. Midwives, birth centers, physicians, and aligned providers stay fully themselves, keep their own names and their own ways of practicing, and gain what a shared banner makes possible: visibility, coordination, and a stronger collective voice for birth care across the state.

The Collaborative connects the whole continuum of Pennsylvania birth care. Home birth, birth centers, and hospitals each carry part of the work of welcoming new life, and families are best served when the three move together.

The work so far

An initiative of the Collaborative secured a $467,410 Rural Health Transformation Rapid Response award for maternal health in rural Lancaster County, the only maternal health award among the 66 made statewide in the program's first round.

Next comes the Pennsylvania Maternal Health Conference on September 26, 2026: one day that brings hospital, birth center, and home birth care into the same room to shape an integrated care model for the state.

Be part of it

The Collaborative is growing practice by practice. If you provide birth care in Pennsylvania, or want to stand with the people who do, we would love to hear from you.
